BUILD/DESIGN

AAMI Park is Melbourne’s purpose built rectangular pitch sporting stadium which predominantly caters for Victoria’s rugby and football codes.

AAMI Park’s design allows spectators to enjoy unobstructed views, free from pillars, walls or other support structures. This design required 50 per cent less steel than a typical stadium roof of the same size.

Built on Edwin Flack field, AAMI Park rivals the world’s best in becoming a world-class event and sports administration complex. It also features a sports campus, including an elite training centre and office accommodation.

BUILD/DESIGN

Rod Laver Arena, formerly known as the National Tennis Centre, was originally built on Flinders Park as a multi-purpose venue to accommodate both tennis and mass entertainment events. In order for the Australian Open to keep up with other Grand Slams, it was moved from Kooyong to the more modern National Tennis Centre in order for Melbourne to retain the event long-term and increase opportunities.

Stage 1 of venue was completed in 1987, with recent Stage 2 upgrade to further enhancing facilities for performers, players and guests.

Over the years Rod Laver Arena has become one of the busiest and highest grossing venues in the world, hosting concert spectaculars across every genre of music and entertainment as well as sporting events such as swimming, basketball and UFC.
